Ruthless and spectacular, capable of causing tears and laughter at once, XFactor is one of the planet’s most loved and followed talent show. The world over, 41 distinct editions of this program exist, all named XFactor except for in Russia, where the “X” Factor has become “A” factor.
The youngest winner of the show is Danish, called Martin and triumphed at only 15 years old. Often, however, it isn’t the shows’ winners that go on to achieve the most success. The most glaring example of this is One Direction, which placed third in the 2010 edition of XFactor UK, and today is one of the bands most followed by teenagers.
In Italy, Morgan is the judge who won more editions: 4 in total, of which 3 consecutively. But as far as judges go, the real revelation of Italy’s 2013 edition is Mika, the trending international pop star and now first foreign judge to preside in the Italian show’s jury. His XFactor? His innate naivety, his pungent irony and his contagious “proper boy” smile.
